The accident happened in thick fog [大雾]

We had some heavy rain at the weekend. [大雨，反义词：light rain 小雨]

There was a strong wind when we were on the boat. [大风]

The wind has blown all the apples off the tree. [吹（风）]

It rained in the morning, but the sky was clear by lunchtime. [万里无云]

It’s been extremely cold today. [极度寒冷，也可说extremely hot/windy

Rain

“雨”是气象条件中最常出现的一种情况，程度等级有着清晰的划分，让我们一起来看看“雨”的相关表达吧！

描述大雨的时候，我们通常使用动词“pour”：pour with rain，类似于中文“大雨倾盆”。

It poured with rain this afternoon.

Look, it’s really pouring (with rain) now.

描述短时间内出现的雷雨，我们通常使用名词“shower”。

We had a couple of heavy/light showers this morning.

描述暴风雨时，我们通常使用名词“storm”。

There is a storm coming.

描述夏天的伴有闪电的雷阵雨时，我们通常使用“thunderstorm”。我们可以听到雷（thunder），看到闪（lightening）。

She got caught in a thunderstorm.
